Tsar & Tsai, as Taiwan legal counsel, successfully advised the lenders, hedge banks and export credit agencies (ECAs) on the project financing of the approximately US$2.7 billion co-investment by CDPQ / Cathay Sustainable Private Equity Fund in the 605MW Greater Changhua 1 offshore wind farm.
Tsar & Tsai, as Taiwan legal counsel, successfully advised the lenders, hedge banks and export credit agencies (ECAs) on the project financing of the approximately US$2.7 billion co-investment by CDPQ / Cathay Sustainable Private Equity Fund in the 605MW Greater Changhua 1 offshore wind farm and associated holdco financing in Taiwan. This deal signifies: (1) the first “holdco” financing structure deployed in the offshore wind sector outside of Europe; (2) CDPQ’s first direct investment in Taiwan through its infrastructure team and its first investment in Asia Pacific’s offshore wind market; and (3) the first time Export Development Canada (EDC) has participated in Taiwan’s offshore wind market.
