Mr. Shawn Teng is a partner of Tsar & Tsai Law Firm focusing on transactional practices.  Shawn’s area of specialty includes insurance, general corporate law,  joint ventures, cross border transactions, M&A and foreign investment.

Shawn has more than twenty years of experience providing clients, primarily foreign multi-national corporations and domestic large corporate clients, a wide range of legal services relating to business investment and operations.  Shawn’s prior cross-border transaction work includes advising foreign clients on legal strategies for Taiwan market entry, deal structure for various types of transactions, foreign investments applications and review, employment and work permit, drafting and negotiation of various types of agreements for cross border transactions. 

Shawn’s cross-border transaction experience also includes representing private equity funds in the proposed investment in insurance companies and acquisition of shipping business, representing manufacturers in acquisition of manufacturing business abroad, and representing automobile business in acquisition of a large track of land in Taiwan.

Shawn also provides legal consulting to clients on their daily business operation.  As a long-term advisor to a multi-national tobacco company, a leading global shipping and freight operator and several insurance businesses, Shawn provides legal services on regulatory compliance, litigation strategies and issue lobbying.  The scope of Shawn’s legal consulting work includes regulatory issue clarifications, licensing conditions and compliance and requisition of operation permits, employment and work permit, and business licenses.  Shawn also provides consulting to clients on general corporate law issues relating to the clients’ daily business operation.
