Tsar & Tsai has advised the ECAs and lenders on the project financing for a consortium of world-leading investors to acquire a total of 50 % ownership share of the Greater Changhua 1 Offshore Wind Farm (605 MW). The consortium of investors consist of CDPQ (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) and Taiwanese private equity fund Cathay PE, and the majority of the deal amount is around NTD75 billion. The financing group comprised 15 Taiwanese and international financial institutions, 2 Taiwanese insurance companies, and 5 international ECAs. The transaction documents was signed and announced on 29 December 2020. The transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals by Taiwanese authorities.
